A numerical study on warm deep drawing of polypropylene

چکیده

Warm deep drawing of polypropylene, a semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer, is studied using finite element analysis. In this process, circular polypropylene blank preheated to temperature much below its melting and drawn into the shape flat-bottom cylindrical cup punch-die combination, both initially at 25°C. The material model used for analysis considers effects varying strain rate during process on depth draw. holder force, initial temperature, diameter, die punch corner radii draw are determined.
